What is Odoo?

What is Alokai?

Alokai is a ecommerce frontend solution. It's a frontend only. It needs to a external backend to function. You can integrate it with backends like Odoo, Shopify, Magento, Adobe Commerce, WooCommerce. Alokai is a so called headless solution Visit Alokai.com

Why a headless frontend for Odoo?

The Odoo default website (Website en Ecommerce app) is a monolithic solution. The front-end (user interface) and the back-end (business logic and data) are tightly coupled. Alokai uses a headless apprach where the front-end and back-end are decoupled. It communicates with the backend using pre defined middleware. This offers more flexibility, enhanced user-experience, performance and security.

If eCommerce is a critical sales channel for your company and you have (or aim to have) at least €5,000,000 in annual online revenue, then a headless setup might be worth considering. You start building real ecommerce as you control and own your wessite. There is no need to rebuild your website every 5 years. Also watch this video or please alow me to tell you more about.

What does the project team look like?

The project team consists of at least one Odoo backend developer, one frontend developer, and myself as the project manager. I coordinate the project team and use AI whenever possible. Depending on the client's preference, external team members can invoice directly or through me. Based on the deadline, we can scale up with additional resources.

Depending on the situation, I can also handle backend development. My preference is to collaborate with an Odoo partner for this. This setup provides a clear division of tasks: eCommerce falls under my responsibility, while everything else is the responsibility of the Odoo partner. Only occasional coordination is necessary in this arrangement.

I usually also work with external website designers. Preferably, these are people who are familiar with the brand identity.
